“Growth is the great separator between those who succeed and those who do not. When I see a person beginning to separate themselves from the pack, it’s almost always due to personal growth.” ―John C. Maxwell
If you were to dedicate yourself to personal growth for, say 30 minutes a day for a year what do you think would happen? What do you think MIGHT happen?
You can’t really know, right? You can say, I’d be a better partner, a better leader, I might get that promotion, maybe I’d be more patient with the kids… But you can’t really know because your potential is untapped right now.
By committing yourself to one repeatable action every day for a year you can dramatically improve your capacity for success. Think of it this way: Your trajectory gets adjusted every day by every decision. Stress and small outbursts, choices to ignore pressing issues, each of these is a tiny little course adjustment. Like a golf ball - you drive it, let's say, 300 yards… where it starts is the same but every tiny degree in one direction or another has a HUGE impact on where that ball will land.
This is life, this the long game. Consider yourself a lifelong learner and then make a commitment to seeing where your path might take you with the smallest investment of time and attention on your single greatest asset… your self.
